Band of Brothers

i bought band of brothers when it came out on dvd, i watched the making of it and i was amazed.. first, does anyone know Anything about the filters they put over the film to make it 1/2 B+W and 1/2 Colour? They mentioned something about 'Cinesite' (?).. it looks so good.. if you havent seen band of brothers, buy it.. its a 6 disc box set with all 10 episodes on discs 1-5 and special features on disc 6.. it is an incredible series.. also, if anyone knows anywhere to buy movie prop guns (WW2 guns especially like, Lugers and MP40s etc.. ) and also cheap German and U.S WW2 Uniforms and headgear, could you please reply with info?? i'd appreciate it heaps =)

i suspect the saturation was tweaked in post to emulate film stock of the 1940's

the special features must be really 'special'

For colour I've used Boris Tri Tone filter with exceptionally good results, and warm cast and alter the opacity of the filter
